This study explains that Jesus Christ, the Good Shepherd, calls His under-shepherds to lovingly care for God’s flock by feeding, guiding, protecting, discipling, and restoring believers according to Scripture, not human wisdom, as shown in John 21:15–17, where Jesus commands Peter to feed and tend His sheep; believers are to grow from spiritual milk to solid food (Hebrews 5:12–14; Hebrews 6:1–3), be trained by God’s Word (2 Timothy 3:16–17), make disciples (Matthew 28:19–20), shepherd with discipline and encouragement (2 Timothy 4:2–5; Hebrews 12:7–11; 1 Thessalonians 5:14), gently lead new believers (Isaiah 40:11; John 3:3), guide the flock in righteousness (Psalm 23:1–6), maintain unity in the Spirit and in sound doctrine (Ephesians 4:3; Ephesians 4:12–14), guard against false teachers and wolves (Matthew 7:15; Matthew 10:16; Acts 20:29; John 10:1–13), pursue wandering sheep (Luke 15:4–7; James 5:19–20; Jude 1:22–23), and faithfully act as watchmen accountable before God (Ezekiel 33:6–7; Matthew 7:21–23; 1 Peter 2:25.
