This teaching explains that believers do not live under two covenants but are instead under the law of Christ, as Paul clarifies in 1 Corinthians 9:19–21 and 1 Corinthians 7:17–20, where Jewish believers are encouraged to retain their identity while Gentiles are not placed under the Law of Moses; the limited requirements for Gentiles are reaffirmed in Acts 15:19–20, showing continuity with the Noahic covenant rather than legalism, while the universal failure of humanity to meet God’s standard is emphasized in Romans 3:23 and Romans 7–8, pointing to Messiah’s fulfillment of the Law on our behalf; the Kingdom theme is rooted in Matthew’s Gospel, particularly the call to repentance in Matthew 3:2 and the “now but not yet” nature of the Kingdom seen throughout Matthew, with forgiveness identified as the first principle of the Kingdom in the parable of reconciliation in Matthew 5:25–26, reinforced by Jesus’ teaching on forgiveness in Matthew 6:14–15; Sabbath and holy days are treated as matters of conscience rather than judgment according to Romans 14:5–6 and Colossians 2:16–17, which teach that these observances are shadows fulfilled in Christ, underscoring that salvation and sanctification are grounded not in legal observance but in grace, repentance, and lived forgiveness within the Kingdom of God.
